The Kansai Club is a start-up publisher of manga and Japanese literature from the time period of the 40′s to the 70′s. Their first project, The Crater, by Osamu Tezuka, is now on Kickstarter.
The Crater will be a single hardcover volume containing all 17 short stories that appeared in the original Japanese release. The Kansai Club has stated that they will only be printing 2,000 copies, so once they’re gone, they’re gone. The books cost $35 on the Kickstarter and come with three 7 by 10 in. art prints. If all 2,000 copies do not sell on Kickstarter, they will be sold at the Florida Supercon in Miami (July 4-7th). If all of the books are still not sold by then, they will be shipped to comic book stores.
One day into the Kickstarter and the Kansai Club has already raised $6955 out of the $3500 goal. The Kickstarter has 30 more days to go, and will end on June 14. It can be found here.
